A to Z Challenge – SUPER cross stitch

G is for Green Lantern

Green Lantern is from weelittlestitches’ superhero alphabet sampler.

Whenever I think about Green Lantern, I think about Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Kyle Rayner, and Guy Gardner.

John Stewart is a founding member of the Justice League in the Justice League/Justice League Unlimited animated series. He was the Green Lantern that I watched as a kid.

After seeing some of the other Lanterns from Earth, John seems to be the more serious and stoic Lantern compared with the others, especially Hal.

Kyle Rayner appears as Green Lantern when first acquiring his ring in Superman: The Animated Series, and he briefly appears in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

I have the POWER!

Hal Jordan appears briefly in the Justice League Unlimited cartoon series, The Batman, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Hal, John, and Guy appear in the Young Justice animated series.

Love hurts!

Hal Jordan appears as the main character in Green Lantern: The Animated Series with Guy Gardner appearing as a recurring character.

Guy Gardner appears in multiple episodes of Batman: The Brave and the Bold while Hal Jordan only appears in a few installments.

Why I oughta…

Hal Jordan appears as the Green Lantern in several direct-to-video DC original animated films, including Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, Justice League: Doom, Justice League: War, and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths.

Where there’s a will…

Hal has always been humorous, bringing the laughs alongside the Flash. John, as I mentioned before, is the more serious of the Green Lanterns from Earth. Guy has always been the hothead with a short stature and an even shorter fuse, and Kyle is reluctant but extremely capable.

G is for Gamora

Gamora is from fangirl stitches’ girl power superhero comic book alphabet.

Gamora has become more recognizable since the Marvel Studios film Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) was released.

She is the adopted daughter of Thanos, and the last of her species. Her powers include superhuman strength, agility, and accelerated healing.

Gamora makes a non-verbal cameo as a spectator at the arena, where the Hulk fights as a gladiator, in the direct-to-video film Planet Hulk.

Gamora appears in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series, Avengers Assemble, and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H., which coexist in the expanded Marvel animated universe.

She appears as one of the leads in the Guardians of the Galaxy animated series. Her character design is similar to her physical appearance in the live-action film. The animated series serves as a continuation of the first film’s plot, but it is not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

She’s a total badass! Gamora is tough as nails, and she’s even acquired the nickname “The deadliest woman in the galaxy”.

My favourite GL will always be Hal Jordon. I hated when they made him the bad guy.
Gamora I”m familiar with only after seeing Guardians of the Galaxy. That was an awesome film, I loved it.

Hal and John are my favorite Lanterns – I never actually mentioned that in the post.

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy! I am super excited for Vol. 2, which comes out next year.
