A to Z Challenge – SUPER cross stitch

I is for Iron Man

Iron Man is from weelittlestitches’ superhero alphabet sampler.

What can I say? He’s Tony Stark! He’s brash, intelligent, and he’s kind of a egomaniac.

He’s got layers like so many of the other superheroes on these A to Z challenge posts. He’s a sarcastic jackass, but I love him!

What now?!?

This particular billionaire is sarcastic, charming, and undeniably brilliant. He created his own powered suit, first to escape capture and then to protect the world as Iron Man.

He’s got attitude that just won’t quit, and he seems to lack a nice brain-to-mouth filter, which I can stand behind.

Who wants some?

He’s one of my favorite Avengers, being a founding member and all, even when he antagonizes the others. Sarcastic quips never stop when in a battle, Iron Man seems a bit incapable of being 100 percent serious about anything.

He’s a bit of wild child, impulsive and sometimes destructive, but he stands and fights when the situation calls for action. Iron Man’s a superhero, no matter his faults and vices.

Wanna play a card game, Cap? War… perhaps.

He appears in the 1994 Spider-Man cartoon series, Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. as a guest. Iron Man stars in The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Avengers Assemble.

He’s featured in Ultimate Avengers and its sequel, Ultimate Avengers 2. He makes a brief appearance in the Planet Hulk animated movie. Iron Man appears in the anime film Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher.

I is for Invisible Woman

Invisible Woman is from fangirl stitches’ girl power superhero comic book alphabet.

She is a founding member of the Fantastic Four, receiving her powers after being exposed to a cosmic storm.

Fun fact: She was the first female superhero created by Marvel during the Silver Age of Comics (1956 to crica 1970).

Her powers primarily deal with light waves, allowing her to render herself and others invisible. Invisible Woman can also project fields of invisible psionic energy, using said energy offensively and defensively.

Family photo time!

I’ve always liked Sue Storm (Susan “Sue” Richards), being a strong female presence in a testosterone fueled family team. The Fantastic Four has always been a family team: best friends, siblings, the married couple – I love the familial dynamic of the team!

She stars in the cartoon series Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, the first cartoon not to have her married to Mister Fantastic at the beginning of the series. Invisible Woman appears in The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. as a guest.
